Law VS Grace

In the Old Testament God gave the Law to His people through
Moses. It is the way that govern human conduct. During the later part, God gave show His
grace of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ through the sacrificial death and
resurrection of Jesus, for our sins.
The Law tell us of the 10 commandments, the way to live
life, the way how we should worship God in our daily life. The Law is difficult for us to
fulfill because it requires our upmost perfect standard of spiritual and physical behavior
from birth till death. When we fail, the Law reflect our life and we know we will be judge
by it. That is why the pharises fail God as they focus mainly on the Law, the tradition
part, and judge people for not fulfilling it. However, the Bible says that a man is
justified by faith. Thus, works do earn our salvation or pay for our sins we had
committed.
We need both the Law and Grace. The Law to show to
us that we are a sinner and we are guilty of it and Grace to recognize our need to ask for
forgiveness and Jesus is our only hope.
Without the Law, sin cannot be recongize.
"...through the Law comes the knowledge of sin." Roman 3:20. With Law alone, no
one can be saved. It says for example the first comandment to love God with all our heart,
it already show us the exact area we fail in! We are all under condemnation. No way for
anyone to be saved. That is why the Law become a guide for us to know that we are sinners
and constantly trying our very best to keep the Law.
Without Grace, none will be saved either because we are
sinners. However, with Grace alone without the Law, the people will abuse the death of our
Lord Jesus paying for our sins on the cross because we cannot pay for our transgession.
Hence, we will need the Law to reveal the sins of
man that works is insufficient to have eternal life and the Gospel of Grace is the only
way to God.
