J.L.C.
J.L.C. stands for a lot of things....Joy Luck Club, Joyless Luckless Club & Just Lonely around
Christmas. Besides these club names, J.L.C. also stands for friendship, trust and support.
J.L.C is a club formed by 3 pple....socks, acorn and me. It was formed in Dec. 1995 when all
three of us were facing some hehheh, er, troubles of the heart. I think it was also the
year when the movie Joy Luck Club was showing in S'pore and we were bemoaning our misfortunes
and so we decided to name our club Joyless Luckless Club. However, heehee as time passed, we (acorn
& me actually) realized that our lack of luck usually happens during the Christmas season, admist
the hustle and bustle of festivities so we came up with a third name....Just Lonely around
Christmas.
Socks, acorn and I are from the same church, Bethesda Frankel Estate Church. Socks is the oldest.
He turned 20 on June 10 this year and acorn turned 19 on the 17th of May. I'm 18 and my birthday
is one day b4 acorn's.
Socks is presently studying engineering at Oxford, UK. Guess u can say he's the most academically
inclined (politically correct!) among the 3 of us. Socks plays the piano and well, he has tried
his hands at drums too. Socks is currently in S'pore on hol...summer hols i believe and will be
here till Oct. (i think again). Socks is abt. 1.73m tall, with a slight built and cuts a scholarly
figure...no "corn intended".
Oh ya, in case u were wondering why "socks"...well, that's just the nick he uses on IRC. *tongue-in-cheek*
I don't noe if he has a preference for any particular brand of socks tho'. Heehee.....
Acorn is in NS now and he's in Selarang camp. Acorn's two loves must be soccer and bass....there
is a third one i suppose but i don't wanna risk my neck splashing it here. Heehee. Unlike socks,
who is a "science" person, acorn is arty farty. Like i've said b4...i don't know abt. the arty
but i can testify the later part....haha....just kidding. See! That's shows how magnamanious he.
Being a really humourous person, acorn is an endless supply of jokes (no matter how corny they may
get) and never fails to cheer me up when i'm down. :) I guess that explains his nick ya??
As for myself, I'm just a mean gal who suans both of them repeatedly...heehee but they do have a
special place in my heart. I want to say a BIG THANK YOU
to acorn and socks for always
being here for me and may our friendship always grow!
Broken Hearts
A broken heart,
A love one parts.
Longing does not change the fact,
Pining has no effect.
A given heart is not easy to take back.
A broken heart, a relationtionship wrecked.
Dust of time past,
Hearts mended so fast.
But who knows?
For the future cannot be controlled.
Broken hearts cannot be foretold.
A new scene unfolds,
Things unknown they hold.
But how long can one be bold,
To seek the challenge,
And to accept the change,
Of yet another broken heart.
