Description (Agro Delight Tour)

For this tour at 2:30pm, we were the only tourists and was overjoyed.

First, we were brought to see terraces of organic farming. Rows of vegetable like cabbage, corn and fruits like apples were on display. It started to rain and the steps were slippery which prevented us from climbing to the top. We bought some Cameron apples as it had a different texture to the taste and looked different from the normal apple.

We went past a chinese village to get to the flower nursery. I have never seen so many beautiful flowers before and indeed a magnificent sight. There were rows of flowers at various growth point from recently planted to fully bloom.

We had an aerial view of the water-cress farm. Our tour guide explained that each "pool" contained water and the moving water keeps the water cress alive. There was a pulley that helps transport food from down below up to the level where we are standing.

We headed to the strawberry farm which allows vistors to pick and pluck thier own strawberries.Fortunately, we did not take up the offer as anyone plucking will be spoilt for choice at the numerous rows of hydrophonic grown strawberries. You won't know where to start. We noticed that some strawberries were grown isolated in a pot. Our guide explained the advantage is that if the plant is in poor health, it will not affect the other strawberries. We did purchase some ready made strawberry jam at a bargain.

We found ourselves at the Lettuce nursery. Similarly, rows of various types of lettuce at different stages of growth are planted using hydrophonics techniques. At the cafeteria, you are able to have a lettuce salad and fudge for a good price.

Lastly we were at the Cactus farm . There were so many species of cactus grown. We saw many of their leaves were vandalized with love messages. There were also many types of flowers and fruits on display. As you climb higher into the farm, you will noticed that it gets lonelier, and gives you the chills. As it was approaching night, our guide nudge us to round up the tour.

We had a sumptuous steam boat dinner which is included in the tour package. We had it all to ourselves and ate to our fill. It was a great dinner. Our guide drove us back to our hotel at 7:30pm.
