PC is ON TESTING :

  1. When the PC has started up, enter the BIOS set-up ( normally by pressing " F1 " or " F10 " keys ) when instructions are given for you to do so.
    Look out for these prompts which should appear on your computer screen.
  2. Change the current date/time to 31 Dec 99 , 2358 hr
  3. Shut down your PC, wait for 3 minutes.
  4. Start up your PC again & re-enter the BIOS set-up.
  5. Check the date/time. Your PC should display 1 Jan 2000, 00:01 . . .

  6. ( Note : some non-Y2K compliant PCs may stop functioning at this stage . )
  7. Next, set the date/time to 28 Feb 2000, 2358 hr & wait 3 minutes. As year 2000 is a leap year, you should see 29 Feb 2000, 00:01 hr . . .
  8. If at any point, your PC stops working or displays a wrong date/time, source for available fixes from the manufacturer or solutions from other computer vendors. Alternatively, consider replacing your PC with a Y2K ready one ! ! !
