SCUBAPRO TWIN JET FINS

So many people have asked about the Twin Jet Fins and how they compare with all the other fins, split or paddle, in the market.

Rodale's did a report on the different fins in the market and came with the following conclusion: "Most good paddle fins will peak out at 1.5 to 1.9 mph, with a very few, reaching speeds in the 2 to 2.5 mph range. The newer propeller fins also peak out in the range of 2 to 2.5 mph, but they allow the diver to sustain these higher speeds for longer periods of time."

The Twin Jet Fins use an unconventional hydrofoil shape that produces forward motion with less effort than any traditional blade. This patented design allows water to flow around each of the twin blades, producing propulsion in a manner similar to that found in a sail or wing. The angled design allows for symmetry between upstroke and downstroke of the kick, resulting in higher efficiency

With conventional "channeling" or increased blade length, water is forced over the sides and trailing edge of the fin during each kick, creating an undesirable vortex along the length and back of the blade. This induces drag and quickly increases diver fatigue. The Twin Jet Fin's hydrofoil shape and exclusive Monprene material reduce drag and give the diver more kicking power with less effort.

For divers who are using the Twin Jet Fins, congratulations on owning one of the best in finning technology. For the rest considering a pair, visit your favourite diveshop and ask for it today.
