A TALE OF TWO MASKS

Why are they so good?

SCUBAPRO FRAMELESS AND MICROFRAME UL MASKS

We have customers and dealers asking us questions about masks all the time and we thought it would be nice to share some information with people who visit our site as well. What makes the SCUBAPRO Frameless and Microframe UL Masks so good?

Very often we hear questions from divers about low-volume masks. Why low-volume? A low volume mask is one that creates a very small space within the mask when a diver wears it on his face. This means that if the mask should flood for some reason, it takes very little effort to clear. Also, low volume masks generally have better vision than high volume ones.

Better vision? Yup. When we have a smaller volume in the mask, usually, the lens goes closer to our faces. This means that our vision is unblocked and with very minimal movement of the head, we can see a lot more. In this respect, the SCUBAPRO Frameless Mask holds the top spot.

The mask of choice for many naval diving units, dive instructors and divemasters, increasingly more and more sport divers are using the SCUBAPRO Frameless Mask. This mask achieves super low volume by doing away with the mask frame. What we have is surgical, hypo-allergenice black silicone skirt molded directly with the tempered glass lens of the mask. As there is no mask frame, the skirt molds itself with little predetermined angles onto the diver's face for superior comfort. No frames, no view obstructions. Without moving our heads and just by moving our eyes, we can see so much more. No wonder the navies endorse it: tactical black and minimal movement are important considerations for them.

Better vision? Just buy a low-volume mask. Masks which claim to give better visions with new angles and having more lenses in them will be heavier and bulky looking with marginal improvements in vision.
