Introduction
The
schools enrichment program scene has witnessed many changes since gaining
recognition as serving a useful role in complementing our educational
institutions. Many players, big and
small, have responded to the ever-changing demands placed on schools to provide
a holistic education for the student. Out of this
same spirit, Roots Excellence was formed since end of 1999 to play its role in
enriching teachers and students as they adapt to the changes in acquiring
skills and knowledge in the new millennium.
Our
Mission
Technological advances have altered the many traditional ways in
which teaching and learning take place. Many schools have different needs in
different areas and also seek to establish different distinct identities. Enrichment programs for teachers and
students offer a way to accomplish the objective. Roots Excellence Pte Ltd recognises this need and remains
committed to help schools to achieve it through our many programs – often in
congruence with the school’s special needs.
Our
Team
Our team comprises of full-time professionals with vast experience
in the field of education, be it teaching, designing curriculum and developing
textbooks. Many are trained ex-MOE
personnel with capabilities to design and execute learning programs suitably
ideal to the learning environment of our local students. On the team also, are professionals such as
engineers and business consultants in the corporate world who are able to pass
on their rich and varied experiences to enhance the learning process of
teachers and students in schools. All our trainers are pedagogically qualified to conduct
our programs.
Our
Programs and Services
Our
programs and workshops cover subjects in the primary and secondary schools’
curriculum. We have workshops that deal with creative and critical thinking
skills. Most of our workshops integrate the use of IT as well as presentation
skills in the final learning outcome for the IPW.
We
have workshops that deal with scientific investigations into the physical
phenomenon of heat, light, relative humidity, electrical conductivity and
sound. Other workshops touch on the comprehensive Life Sciences programme. In addition, we also conduct special
enrichment programs to better prepare students to face the challenge of
handling examinations well. Schools that have gone through our programme have
seen improvement in the quality passes.
Another
highlight of the programs is staff development and leadership training. We
offer consultation and workshop on strategic thinking, and formulation and
implementation of strategies for results.
Our strength
lies in our ability to customise each individual workshop to meet the needs of
our customer.
