Singapore? Located at the southern tip of Peninsular Malaysia in Asia. She is a small city state but an important financial centre in the world. Population about 4 million, comprising mainly Chinese (70%), Malay and Indian. The city state is getting more like New York, fairly cosmopolitan as there are sizeable number of foreigners staying and working here. Singapore is mainly an English speaking country. The importance of the Chinese language is not overlooked and is getting more prominence as businesses are expanding into China and effective communication with the Chinese is important.
