I am Vijaya . This is my nickname which is otherwise officially Vishalakshi
or Vishi for my office.
Presently I am looking
after a small business office in Singapore doing trading of Electronic Components
to India. I started this firm about 5 years back. From a no-voice in office
management or in Business, I have slowly build this company from a turnover
of $16,000 to about $4 Million now.
There have been lots
of ups and downs, pressure and achievements during this period, but on the
whole it has been a rewarding experience considering my background of Master
of Science degree in Home Science and being a housewife for 8 years.
The experience of running
one's own business in a foreign country has given me a lot of confidence
in many ways. I have learnt in these few years, among other things, that
it requires dedicatation to succeed and this requires sacrifices. It is
always difficult to balance dedication and sacrifices especially for a housewife.
My hobbies are reading, cooking
,cross stitching and anything in arts and crafts in general, interests me.
