THE MESSAGE OF HEBREWS

(Outline of the Book of Hebrews)

The Lord spoke His Word through the prophets of old,
In bits and in pieces their message was told.
But now, in these last days, He spoke through the Son,
In fulness revealing the Blest Three in One.

Chorus:
Let's look unto Jesus our High Priest in Heav'n
And press on by faith in the Word He has giv'n.
With boldness to come to the presence of God,
Let nothing keep us from our heav'nly reward!

The angels are spirits of might and of pow'r
Yet none did receive or partake of the honor
Of Jesus, enthroned at the Father's right hand,
Declared Son of God, and yet Son of Man.

So faithful was Moses in serving the Lord,
To whom was entrusted the household of God;
The same is true also of Jesus, the One,
Placed over the house, not as servant, but Son.

By following Joshua, God's people were blest--
The conquest of Canaan at last gave them rest.
But there is a Rest they had yet to receive,
That's promised to those who in Jesus believe.

Not one served as priest in the Lord's holy tent
Or made sacrifice without Levite descent;
But Christ is our Priest in the True Tent above,
Who serves by an oath from the Father of Love.

Again and again the atonement was made,
Achieved through the animal's blood that was shed;
But these were but pictures awaiting the True,
That none but the Blood of the Lord's Lamb can do.
