I called myself a Christian but lived in daily strife.
I tried so hard to play the part, but still could not revive.
No, nothing could sustain me, no fire could survive
Till I learnt to put You first within my life!
And then I realized the reason why I am living:
To glorify and love You, my heart I give to You
To share the love you gave, for all you came to save
In joy, forever me and You, my Lord!
At times I never knew You had a plan for me
I gave priority to goals, the things that I could see:
Ambitions, aims, relationships, that never could endure
Till I reached the turning point that made me pure.
Lord Jesus, You once said that He who follows You
Must count the cost and raise His cross, love no one more than You.
The Word of God convicted, its voice was small and still
And I said, Lord Jesus, You can have my will!
I'm crucified with Jesus and I no longer live
But its Jesus Christ who lives my life, the life He died to give
By faith I will continue to live abundantly
Now I call myself a Christian joyfully!
