Catherine Ding
Graduated from the University of Singapore with a degree in Economics(2nd
Class Upper Honours), Catherine has spent more than 20 years in the
Banking and Finance sector, holding Management positions. All these
years, music remained an important part of her life as she served in her
church as a pianist, organist and accompanist for combined choir.
While working in the
corporate sector, Catherine also taught piano to her private students
during weekends. Instead of finding it stressful to work at two
careers simultaneously, she found it a rich and rewarding experience,
when she watched her students grow up and still continue to play the
piano. Some of them are serving as instrumentalists in their own
churches.
The
demands of her career and her family did not deter her from obtaining
a Diploma in Piano Performance with the Trinity College(ACTL),
Catherine is also trained in the pipe organ, having completed Grade 8
in 1998.
Catherine finally left the bank and is now teaching piano and organ
fulltime. “I have no regrets at all; the years in the corporate world
has enriched my life with valuable lessons and experiences which I can
draw on as I reach out to touch young lives and face new challenges.”
