BASIC INTERNET TOOLS FOR WIN 3.1

Hi! When I first started out as a Clueless Newbie using Windows 3.1, I had to struggle with what programs to use for surfing the Net. This page will give you the programs that I WAS currently using at that time, back in the mid 90's.
I don't use Windows 3.1 any more. I occasionally update this page for old time's sake (because at that time, I just got married and was trying to learn HTML). This was one of the very first web pages that I did for fun.

Netscape Navigator Gold 3.04 or Netscape Navigator 4.08 (full version). Navigate the World Wide Web with this, formerly the world's most popular FREE browser (with warmest thanks to Bill Gates).

Global Chat v2.2. Use this FREE IRC client to text chat with others from all over the world. Besides, it can link to several IRC servers at once.

	Eudora Light 3.0.6. A popular FREEware e-mail program this is widely used by the World Wide Web community.
	WS_FTP 5.06. A FREEbie FTP program for home use. Transfer, delete, rename your files easily across the World Wide Web.
	EWAN 1.052. This is a somewhat ancient but great FREEbie Telnet and Terminal Emulator program. EWAN means: "A Very Good Emulator Without A Name".
	News Xpress 1.0 Beta#04. This is a FREEware News Reader. Has a nice and simple interface.
	Microsoft Win32s 1.30c. You need to install this FREEbie to run 32 bit software under Windows 3.1. Of course, these software must be specifically written to run under Windows 3.1 in the first place. Since there are many such cool software available, why not install it?
	PKZIP V2.60.03. There are zillions of ZIP files out there created. Use this program to extract and compress files. This is a true SHAREWARE with no time limit imposed. Besides, it can read re-construct corrupted ZIP files. WinZip has problems with it. So, keep a copy of PKZIP handy!
	StuffIt Expander V1.0. A FREE jack-of-all-trade file expander. The following format are supported: Zip(.zip), StuffIt(.sit), Arj(.arj), Arc(.arc), gzip(.gz, .z), uuencode(.uu, .uue)and BinHex(.hqx). Also supports Zip, StuffIt and Arj self-extracting archives (.exe, .sea) and Macintosh files in MacBinary(.bin) format. Awesome!
