Using the Flat Bed Laser to create stunning appliqué in 5 quick 'n' easy steps.

 

Punch design 1. Punch design
The design is punched using our own embroidery software. The stitches are generated at the same time as the cut out shapes by the software's unique, patented process. This ensures that when the design is stitched out, the cut out pieces match exactly the stitching.

 

Cut Out Pieces 2. Cut Out Pieces
The design is cut using one of the Flat Bed Laser Cutters to the exact sizes of the design. Shapes are cut quickly and accurately to precise depths thereby cutting through the appliqué fabric, but leaving the adhesive backing untouched.

 

Stitch Outline 3. Stitch Outline
Before placing the appliqué pieces in place, the design incorporates a simple outline running stitch enabling each piece to be positioned accurately. Parts of the design which are not affected by the appliqué can also be sewn first

 

Place Pieces 4. Place Pieces
Position the appliqué pieces in place to match the outline. The shapes are secured either by the adhesive backing or using a temporary adhesive such as KK100.

 

Sewn Down & Finish Design 5. Sewn Down & Finish Design
Continue sewing the design which will fix down the appliqué pieces then add stitches both on top and around the appliqué for extra detail. The appliqué is then fully incorporated into the design to give an impressive finished product.

Designed to cut virtually every type of material, the Flat Bed Laser Cutter range works with leather, suede, denim, twill, polyester, felt and interlining plus flock, silk, vinyl, acrylic sheet, paper, card, plastic, cork, plywood and gaskets.

The Flat Bed Lasers utilize the latest technology developed in the UK to produce the cleanest and most accurate cuts ever at a fraction of the cost of conventional cutting processes, and unlike blade driven systems, there is no deterioration in quality of cut, with the laser producing identical results time and time again.

Infinitely complex shapes, sharp angles and tight radius turns are cut accurately and quickly, enabling very intricate designs to be produced and because the laser seals the edges as it cuts, fraying and unraveling are minimized.
