M-a-k-a-n time!

Choosing our venue for our Banquet (i.e wedding dinner) was indeed challenging! Never in my life have I tried to bargain this much... I guess it was a matter of getting your money worth but really, it was the fun I manage...or should I say WE manage to get out of it!

What started out to be a "simple" task ended quite the opposite. We have actually identified a few hotels intially, which we thought would meet our requirements but we were already looking at the 8th one even before we know it. I guess the main concern most couples have is the budget, then comes the ambience and ballroom etc. Food quality is an important criteria too.

It never fail to surprise me how detailed a couple can be when it comes to preparing their wedding. No pillars for ballroom preferably, high ceiling for ballroom, service quality of hotel staffs, food quality etc. The list just goes on and on! And that comes from personal experience!

Hah, on several occasions, me and my wife-to-be would go back to the same place time and again or ask questions, which the staffs would find weird! Talking about getting on people's nerves!!! =) Thankfully, both of us are reasonably easy-going (we should think so! =). As a matter of fact, we do complement each other so well that occasionally we would shock ourselves with the deals we manage to pull off! ;P

For most Chinese, I find that most of their parents would want their children to choose an auspicious date for the customary wedding. This usually bring about several "hot dates" for marriage. When this happens, most of the hotel ballroom would have that particular date booked way beforehand. This drive the couples to book the hotel ballroom very much in advance (including us!), which is usually at least a year before their actual marriage now!! Crazy isn't it?

Well, so where will our wedding dinner be held? We fell in love with the Ballroom and we love the food...it is none other than Marriott Hotel. We do hope all of you will like it there too and have a wonderful evening with us.

: Sorry, no hamburgers will be served during the dinner...However, fans will be provided for the lack of air con (Just Kidding!).
