Breast Cancer Development
Breast cancer is so common today that everyone knows someone who has got it-
whether a sister, mother, best friend, colleague or friend. The good news is
that breast cancer survival rates are improving provided the cancer is
discovered in the early stages.
Even better news is that there are more new discoveries in breast cancer
research. One of the most exciting discoveries in the recent years is that
neutraceuticals can have a positive impact on breast cancer. One example is the

In a press conference held on 14th September 2011, Dr Shingoro gave an insight
into the science behind the enzyme catalyst:
Q: What inspired you to develop the enzyme catalyst?
Japan has a strong reputation as a health conscious nation, with a population
that boasts the world's longest lifespan. Our culture is to adopt a holistic
approach to health, food and wellness. I wanted to develop a neutraceutical to
complement the diet that will greatly reduce our risk of developing diseases
Q: What is a 'neutraceutical'?
A neutraceutical is also called "functional food' or food that provides health
and medical benefits such as prevention of disease. Ancient civilizations such
as the Egyptians, Indians and Chinese practiced the same concept with their
natural herbs and spices. Modern neutraceuticals are mostly based on
antioxidants due to their natural disease-fighting abilities.
Q: Can you elaborate on the exciting news for people at risk or suffering from
breast cancer?
We tested the clinical applicability and effects of the enzyme catalyst on human
breast cancer cells. The research concluded the enzyme catalyst inhibits the
reproduction of human breast cancer cells of MCF-7 (Estrogen Receptor-positive)
and Hs578T (Estrogen Receptor-negative) with up to 57% on a sample extract of
human cancer cell. One of the indications is the reduction of excessive amounts
of Bcl-2 enzyme protein which results in the increased apoptosis (cell death) of
breast cancer cells. Tumour volume was inhibited in enzyme catalyst-fed animals
while tumour weight was reduced by 22% at the 2nd week and 51% at the 4th week.
In short, the enzyme catalyst can inhibit the growth of breast cancer cells.
Q: Who conducted this study?
This was a collaborative research with 6 international researchers from various
international universities and institutions, including the National Institutes
of Health in US. This in vivo and in vitro study was subsequently published in
the New York Academy of Sciences Magazine in 2009.
Q: What has been the response so far?
The results have sparked worldwide interest among cancer researchers. This
enzyme catalyst is also the first and only fermented food certified by the
Japanese Association of Alternative, Complementary, and Traditional Medicine (JACT)
as a natural food with therapeutic effects that are safe, effective and
reliable.
Q: Why do you think other enzyme products cannot produce this effect?
There are three main categories of enzymes in the human body -food enzymes that
are present in food; digestive enzymes produced by our body to assist digestion
