"PARABLE OF THE ROSE"

A certain man planted a rose and watered it faithfully and before it blossomed, he examined it. He saw the bud that would soon blossom, but noticed thorns upon the stem and he thought........ How can any beautiful flower come from a plant burdened with so many sharp thorns? Saddened by this thought, he neglected to water the rose, and before it was ready to bloom, it died. So it is with many people. Within every soul there is a rose: The God-like qualities planted in us at birth growing amid the thorns of our faults. Many of us look at ourselves and see only the thorns, the defects. We despair, thinking that nothing good can possibly come from us. We neglect to water the good within us, and eventually it dies. We never realize our potential. Some people do not see the rose within themselves; someone else must show it to them. One of the greatest gifts a person can possess is to be able to reach past the thorns and find the rose within others. This is the characteristic of love .... to look at a person and know their true faults. Accepting that person into your life, while recognizing the nobility in their soul. Help them to realize that they can overcome their faults. If we show them the rose, they will conquer their thorns. Only then will they blossom many times over.

  • Don't go for looks, it can deceive; don't go for wealth for even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile cos' only a smile make a dark day seem bright.

  • It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

  • Always put yourself in other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably does hurt the person, too.

  • A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.

  • The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

  • Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to be grateful for that gift.

  • It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone...but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

  • Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and you find that you still care for that person.

  • A sad thing about life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you only to find out in the end...that it was never bound to be and you just have to let go...

  • Love starts with a smile, develops with a kiss...and ends with a tear...

  • Never say goodbye when you still want to try...Never give up when you still feel you can take it...Never say you don't love that person anymore...when you can't let go...

  • There are things you love to hear but you would never hear it from the person whom you would like to hear it from...But don't be deaf to hear it from the person who says it...with his heart...
