Steam Glutinous Rice     

Ingredients:

  • 500gm Glutinous rice

  • 2 pcs Chinese sausages

  • 1 bowl fried small shallots

  • 2 stalk spring onions

  • 75gm dried prawns

  • 8-10 pcs mushrooms (soak with water and retain the stock to steam rice)

  • Portion A                                           

    • 1 cup mushroom water

    • 1.5 tsp salt

    • 1/2 tbsp thick dark sauce

    • 1 tbsp cooking oil

    Portion B

    • 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce

    • 1 tbsp light Soya sauce

    • 1/2 tbsp dark Soya sauce

    • 1/2 tbsp sugar

    • 1.5 tbsp sesame oil

     Method

    1. Wash glutinous rice and drain away the water. 

    2. Mix well with Portion A and steam for 20 minutes, stir so as to ensure rice is cooked thoroughly.

    3.  Season mushroom and dried prawns with Portion B and mix well with the steam rice and steam for another 15 mins.

    4.  Add Chinese sausages and steam for further 5 mins.

    5.  Stir and garnish generously with the fried onions and spring onions. Serve hot.
