Running Only One Copy of the Same Program
Compiled program should first check whether a copy of the same program has already been run. If so, an error message can be displayed advising user that another copy of the same program is already active in memory, and they are unable to load more than one copy of the same program.
Display "ReadMe" file during SetUp
An additional "Suggested Text file to display" option in the "Book - Compile Book - Setup / Installation" dialog to specify a text file (e.g., README.TXT) to be displayed after the installation completes. This file may include last-minute addendum or licensing agreement, and/or other essential information
Use image file
for SetUp
An additional "Suggested Image File to Display" option in the "Book - Compile Book - Setup / Installation" dialog to allow author to specify and use a bitmap image instead of the plain display.
"DisplayImage" command
A new "DisplayImage" Action command to display a bitmap file permanently which can be 'toggled' as on/off. This will allow image to remain intact even after "screen redraw", unlike the "PopUpImage" command. Better still, this command can also be used as a script command in "text" files!
"ClearBuffer" command
A new "ClearBuffer" Action command to clear all keystrokes and mouse clicks stored in the buffer while an action is being performed (e.g., "Wait for Playback to Finish Before Continuing")
Support for
"HTML" codes
Additional support for basic 'HTML' codes in text file is a hot favorite for almost everyone of us. Just imagine we can create our own "offline" browser; or a more flexible and poweful knowledgebase program better than the Microsoft "HTMLHelp Maker" program!!
Irregular HotArea
button
Allowing more flexibility and creativity if irregular buttons (i.e., those that are not square/rectangle in shape) can be "mapped" and used. These buttons can include bitmap image file.
Support for
animated GIFs
A new conversion utility to convert GIF-2-CAR; or upgraded NeoToon to read animated GIF files directly would be useful. More time can then be spent on creativity !.
Play sound file
when button is selected
An additional "Suggested Sound file to Play" in the "Button Attributes - Button Style - Style Attributes" dialog to allow a sound file to be played when a user clicks at a button. This option will allow better synchronization of buttons being clicked (e.g., when button is being clicked, it will be "down" and a "click" sound is heard, and then the button is "up" again). Currently, sound can only be heard (using "PlaySoundFile" command in "ButtonAction" script) after the button is down and up, and depending on where you store the sound file, there may be a long delay before the sound is heard.
