What is Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga literally means eight limbs. They are described by Patanjali and Thirumoolar as: Yama (abstinences), Niyama (observances), Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath control), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), and Samadhi (contemplation).
