from INTERMETALL Semiconductors
In 1993 INTERMETALL Semiconductors launches its new DSP chip architecture "Open Systems DIGIT3000". The hallmarks of DIGIT3000 ICs are the unification of important IC parameters (standard CMOS technology, open interfaces, uniform system clock) and their modular design. To a much greater extent than its renowned predecessor, the DIGlT2000 chip system (designed for the construction of digital TV receivers and on the market since 1983), DlGlT3000 is therefore suitable for use in applications which extend beyond consumer electronics; in particufar, Multimedia systems can be realized economically with only a few DIGIT3000 ICs.For integrating the media of TV and computer, INTERMETALL Semiconductors offers at present the following one chip Multimedia solutions:
- Video front-end (A-D converter, multistandard decoder, format control)
- Text decoder
- Video back-end (multistandard encoder, D-A converter)
- Audio codec
- Signal processor for audio data compression.
