| Preface
These days it seems like any idiot can also publish a book cyberly to
share with everyone. Here's what I am trying to achieve after doing a clean
up of the rubbish in my hard disk.
I started by trying to do translations before writing stuff of my own.
Life was stressful from 1990 to mid 1995 when I was still in the university.
However, it was full of wonderful experiences to pen down. There are the
"Romantic Days to ... " the grand exam after Chinese New Year. I
am glad that she was there happily receiving it all from me. (please don't
ask me who is she, let it continues to be a beautiful secret) There are
also excellent poetesses and poets like Krysania Tan, Phan Ching Chong
and many others who simply love to pick up poetic "quarrels" with me in
the NUSVM Bboard which had inspired some of these flowery creations. Some
of my works can also be found in emails or other cyber media which I tried
to keep in touch with friends or those who are once or still close to my
heart; e.g. my cyber "wifey"s, "ptl"s (part time lovers), ptdidi, "mei"s
and the whole bunch of notti tudis, tushuns, grand tushuns and great grand
tushuns etc. who had in one way or another inspired or shed some light
on my works.
Life was never the same as before ever since I started working in 1995.
The mood is simply not conducive for writing. Life was hectic and no time
for any heart breaking / cracking experiences to inspire some nice works.
After a good day of work at the office, the brain and mind had practically
dried up and unable to squeeze out any more ink. Nothing is written till
1998 when the economy is bad and morale is a little low which brings back
the melancholy in me to write again.
Some of my works had been lost somewhere in cyberspace; either I did
not save it down into a disk or get corrupted after I had saved it. I looked
back while compiling and would like to thank one of my "mei", Pauline Tan
who had managed to savage some of my "lost" works in hard copy. Meanwhile,
if any of you out there came across my works that were not listed here
but signed off under the labels of "Chaplin Lindbergh, "wolf", "wisely"
or "Tan Chia-Li", I would greatly appreciate it if you can forward them
to me to add to this collection.
Meanwhile, don't worry, be happy and enjoy life ! Cheers !
