Conquering Comprehension

At least eight hours of intensive work packed with material. The themes  in the booklet; include legends, fantasy, biography, and achievement. Each section has a comprehension exercise with a difference. The work includes;

  "Speak out" - Public Speaking

P5/6 able students
Learn how to write a speech and present it. This programme is designed to help you:

Develop confidence
Find out about yourself and your abilities
Understand the skills necessary for public speaking
Practise speaking in front of an audience

Leap into Literature

P5/6 able students

This programme aims to introduce students to the study of literature through reading and responding to a range of texts.  The student centred learning is initiated by teacher instruction. All students are exposed to a range of literary texts and will be encouraged to respond on a personal level to what is read. There will be opportunities for creative writing. At the end of the programme, participants will have been introduced to a comprehensive range of literary terms and will have produced literature of their own.

What is literature?
The oral tradition.
Sharing stories and poems.
Prose – short stories and novels.
Understanding the plot – predictions, sequencing.

Creating Compositions

P5/6 able students
A structured activity pack that makes sense of writing. For only $64 per student there are four, 2 hour units that guide you through;

For only $64 per student this programme works through the basics of English. There are guided compositions and clear and simple ways to plan.

 Better than Basics

P3/4 
This nine-hour programme takes students through everything they need to know about writing compositions. It is aimed at students who are preparing to take their streaming exam.

"Wild and Wonderful Ways with Words"

P3/4 average to able students
A power packed 10 hour programme dealing with grammar from a very practical perspective. It is accompanied by language games to reinforce the written practices. "Wild and Wonderful Words" is interactive, memorable and fun. The programme aims are for the students to:

Understand styles of sentence construction
Improve communication in both written and oral work
Enrich vocabulary

All this for $80 per student.


"The Robinson Crusoe Project"

P6
Three hours cross curricular activity for $500 per class/ $12 per student. The project is mentally challenging for all levels and involves students planning their survival using "cue" cards and "help" cards. Everyone has a map and must make a raft that gets tested for seaworthiness!

"Speak out for Little Voices"

A new addition to the pack. 

An exciting approach to understanding grammar through action and play. This ten-hour programme is specifically aimed at P1/2 level and provides  young students with the essential tools to tackle English in their lives.


 "Leap Ahead Grammar"

P1/2 level

A thematic guide to grammar for beginners. The programme is taught with the help of Oscar, a wise owl and contains lots of grammar games activities that help to reinforce learning.


"Rub-A-Dub Phonics"

P1/2 level

A fun programme with some serious learning. It is essential for children embarking on a life-long journey of reading.

At the end of the programme, students will be familiar with:

Vowel sounds and sound patterns
