DISCUSSION
After 2 days of incubation with test media, the plate was placed into the ELISA- type spectrophotometer to get the above readings.
From the results obtained, most cells in test media concentration between 2.0mg of paracetamol in 0.2 ml of media to 0.8mg of paracetamol in 0.2 ml of media of media were killed. For concentration below 0.8mg of paracetamol in 0.2 ml of media, some of the cells survived.
At concentrations below 8mg of paracetamol, the cells have viability range between 3.75% to 88.96%. From the graph, the percentage viability decreases with increasing concentration of paracetamol. NR assay has worked in measuring the cytotoxic effect of paracetamol on Vero cells.
